Join us for a day of education and fun for children, ages 6 to 12, with asthma.
The Delta College Asthma Camp is a one day experience for children ages 6-12 years old, who have been diagnosed with asthma. The purpose of the camp is to provide an opportunity for children to learn about asthma. The camp facilitates interaction with other children who also have asthma in a fun and safe environment. Camp supervisors are Registered Respiratory Therapists and the mentors are second-year Delta College Respiratory Therapy students. The Camp is held annually and is free.
Camp Supervisors plan new, interesting, and educational activities for the upcoming year. Some of the highlights from previous Delta College Asthma Camps include visits from St. Mary’s of Michigan FlightCare, Bay Regional Medical Center Ambulance, Frankenlust Township Fire Department and Delta College Public Safety. Other educational activities have included CPR training, metered dose inhaler training with a spacer, Asthma plan training, making “Asthma Bracelets” and Zumba Dance instruction. Activities may include asthma education, swimming, basketball, tennis and other games.
Again, there is no charge for this camp, However, your child must be pre-registered. Breakfast and lunch are provided. Park in the F Wing lot on northwest corner of campus. Follow signs to registration.
To pre-register contact Tim Heinz by phone, 989-686-4962 or by e-mail, firstname.lastname@example.org
